You Did It! - Thank You!!!
over 4 years ago – Thu, Dec 02, 2021 at 09:34:19 PM

Thank you all so much!

We couldn't be more humbled by all the support we received from each of you. You have helped us launch Project Hot Sauce and we are grateful.

We are now in the process of acquiring the necessary licenses to make and sell sauce in CA, preparing to cook batches to fulfill orders, ordering boxes and packing materials and making sure we fulfill each reward in a timely manner.

We will be sending out backer surveys to request additional information such as shipping addresses and flavor choices so look for those surveys in your inbox soon.

Dave and Andrew

60 hours to go-and we've got some news!
over 4 years ago – Mon, Nov 29, 2021 at 12:10:55 PM

We hope you all had a great holiday and were able to be together with family and friends this year.

We've got 60 hours to go and we are excited to announce that all orders of FRECKIN' HOT will ship out shortly after the Kickstarter ends. That means you will have that flavor in time to give to friends and family as a gift if you so desire.

We've got 70 bottles of Freckin' left so if you want one grab it before they sell out. Give them as gifts to colleagues, friends, family or to yourself.

You'll find them in add-ons.

Meet Alex Frecker from Frecker Farm who generously let us pick his peppers for our Freckin' Hot sauce.

If you have any questions, send us a message.

What a great 1st week!
over 4 years ago – Wed, Nov 10, 2021 at 06:04:57 PM

Thank you all for such a great first week! We are now almost 140% funded. So we are now reaching for our stretch goal of ...$35,000.

To reach that goal we've added a number of new rewards and add-ons to our Kickstarter.

New Rewards:

  • Fire Salt - Chili infused salt that creates a seasoning to liven up any dish.
  • Box of Goodness - this box contains 2-5oz bottles of a sauce of your choice, one jar of Fire Salt AND one jar of FUEGO OIL. Fuego Oil is a delicious blend of aromatics and chilis in non-GMO grapeseed oil poured over our special blend of dried chili flakes. This oil will soon become a staple in your kitchen.

New Add-ons:

  • Fire Salt
  • Fuego Oil
  • Freckin' Hot Sauce - Limited Release (80 bottles). Organic, sweet forward with a round savory heat. This sauce comes direct from the fields at Frecker Farm in Carpenteria, CA where we hand picked the peppers ourselves. This sauce is sure to become a favorite.
  • NASA Inspired Hatch Batch. Since the astronauts on the ISS grew their own Hatch peppers, we decided to honor their achievement by releasing our newest sauce. Hatch Batch is light, bright and flavorful. Lime gives this sauce a Caribbean flair that makes your mouth sing.

What will meeting our stretch goal mean?

One objective for our business is to get to the point where we have enough orders to engage a co packer. To make that financially viable, we will need upwards of 20,000 bottle orders for each batch. That means getting into a major distributor such as Whole Foods, Costco or Publix. Until that point in time, we will need to scale up the business by acquiring the necessary equipment and supplies to fulfill current orders. If we reach our stretch goal, it will be a bridge to cover the costs of various business expenses and allow us to really move things forward in our first year.

Some of the costs  our stretch goal will help cover are:

  • Website Design: $3,000
  • High capacity bottling machine: $3,500
  • Label machine: $500
  • Commercial Kitchen Rental:  $35,000-$48,000 (1 year subscription)
  • Storage unit: $2,000
  • Bottles, caps, shrink wrap, labels (10,000): $10,000
  • Marketing/publicity: $25,000
  • Additional Business Expenses: $20,000
